What is Video Mapping Loops?

Video Mapping Loops refer to a unique collection of looped video footage and backgrounds with a 3D depth effect that are specifically designed for projection video mapping shows. These monochromatic videos feature 3D animations of geometric objects that transform through the use of light and shadow. The majority of these video mapping loops are created as video transitions, textures, and masks, which makes it possible to use them on various architectural buildings’ facades.

The smooth transitions between light and shadow provide an opportunity to project 3D video footage onto building facades using video projectors, thereby achieving a stunning 3D depth effect.

History of Video Mapping Loops

New Media Artist and Content Producer – Alexander Kuiava presented the first-ever free collection of 3D video mapping loops along with a method for developing video content for video projection mapping shows to the public at a VJ conference in Poland in 2012. This marked a significant milestone in the history of video mapping loops. The first Video Mapping Loops pack, Vol.1, was offered for free to all the participants of the VJ Meeting, giving them access to a vast array of creative possibilities for their video projection mapping shows.
